E-commerce giant Amazon India faced criticism on social media on Monday over its sale of doormats featuring the Indian flag. Many users expressed anger and disappointment, calling the sale "disrespectful" and "unpatriotic."

Amazon Removes Doormats After Outcry

In response to the backlash, Amazon Canada removed the doormats from its website on Wednesday. Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj had earlier tweeted, "Amazon must tender an unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately." Amazon India has not yet issued a statement on the matter.
